April-September 2024

Over the past several months, we’ve made significant strides in our efforts to combat human trafficking. In this update, we’ll be sharing news on our latest operations and the progress we’re making together. Your continued support drives our mission forward, and we’re excited to share what’s been happening at CRG.

Operations

In the past few months, Covenant Rescue Group has conducted four undercover operations in Tennessee, Alabama, and Arkansas, resulting in the arrest of 44 predators. Among those arrested were one sheriff’s deputy and one state trooper, underscoring the pervasive nature of human trafficking. These operations, conducted in collaboration with local law enforcement, highlight the ongoing need to confront trafficking at every level. We remain dedicated to protecting the vulnerable and bringing offenders to justice. You can click on the pictures of each operation to access the news article with more detailed info.

Covenant Rescue Group has been committed to enhancing law enforcement’s ability to combat human trafficking and child exploitation through specialized training. Over the last few months, we hosted a 40-hour S.T.O.P. training class at the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, with representatives from over 14 different agencies in attendance. We also held a decoy and chatter class at our office for several law enforcement agencies. In total, we have trained over 200 officers so far this year, equipping them with the skills needed to identify, intervene, and stop trafficking and child exploitation effectively.

ADVocacy

Covenant Rescue Group has been at the forefront of advocacy efforts to combat human trafficking, dedicating significant time and resources to raising awareness and influencing policy change. In recent months, our team has engaged with various businesses, community meetings, and clubs, sharing insights into our mission and the critical need for community involvement in this fight.

A highlight of our advocacy work has been our collaboration with political officials in Montgomery, AL. Our CEO, Jared Hudson, has been instrumental in advocating for HB42, The Sound of Freedom Act, which establishes a mandatory life sentence for anyone convicted of trafficking minors in the state. This landmark legislation not only strengthens legal penalties but also sends a powerful message about the seriousness of this crime.

We are proud to report that HB42 passed with unanimous support and was signed into law by Governor Kay Ivey. We are grateful to the state of Alabama for taking this significant step, and we remain dedicated to working alongside community partners and lawmakers to continue the fight against human trafficking and child exploitation.

We’re excited to announce our upcoming fundraising events that support Covenant Rescue Group's mission to combat human trafficking! Letter from our CEO

Dear Friends and Supporters,

As we reflect on the past six months, I am proud to share the progress Covenant Rescue Group has made in our mission to combat human trafficking and child exploitation. Our team has been hard at work, both on the ground and behind the scenes, to protect the vulnerable and bring predators to justice.

I am incredibly proud of the team at Covenant Rescue Group and the various agencies we've partnered with over the past six months. The success of our operations, culminating in the arrest of 44 predators across four operations, is no small feat. This achievement highlights the power of collaboration and our shared commitment to combating child exploitation. Together, we are making a significant impact in the fight for justice and the protection of the vulnerable.

Our advocacy efforts have gained momentum as well, and I am proud of the strides we have made in influencing policy changes that strengthen protections for our children. Together, we have championed legislation that reflects our commitment to justice and the safeguarding of those at risk.

Looking ahead, I am excited about our upcoming fundraising events, which will not only help contribute to our operations but also allow us to engage more deeply with supporters like you. Our 2nd annual golf tournament on Tuesday November 12th, promises to be a day of fun and purpose, and we are excited about this event. Additionally, our dinner fundraiser in February will provide a platform to celebrate our collective achievements and outline our vision for the future.

I want to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to our donors. Your contributions have made a significant difference, enabling us to carry out our mission and support to those in need. I ask for your continued support. Every contribution makes a meaningful impact!

Thank you for standing with us, for believing in our mission, and for being a vital part of this journey. With your support, we are poised to finish this year strong and continue making strides in the fight against human trafficking and child exploitation.
